It has been long time when we thought of having a weekend or a family trip. This pandemic has made our lives monotonous with waking up, working through out the day & finally ending the day by sleeping on the same bed.

Earlier we used to look at Mondays & start our wait for the weekend to arrive. We used to spend the entire week searching for places to start our weekend with and how to make the most of the weekend.

But last six months has been behind the closed doors, spending days in night suits with no difference between weekdays and weekends. With offices providing option of work from home, life has left with nothing else than work through all days and night, including weekend.

With government issuing new guidelines by providing hotel industry to work with certain norms and guidelines. People are now looking for options to take a break from the routine & look for fun and excitement again from the boring days. Youngsters are more willing to take the risks and try new adventures and explore new places. With air travel still not considered very safe & friendly, road travel by using personal vehicles are proving to best preferred options by people these days.

Here is the list of few weekend getaway, options to be explored to break the tedious chain of routine & to bring your backpack & designer clothes back to life.

1. Mathura

Mathura has an ancient history and is also believed to be the homeland and birthplace of Krishna. Mathura is a holy city for Hinduism and is considered the heart of Brij Bhoomi, the land of Krishna. The twin-city to Mathura is Vrindavan.

There are many places of historic and religious importance in Mathura and its neighboring towns. Dive into the bhakti of Krishna & enjoy the place by taking the blessings of divine deity.

It is known as the pilgrimage town and regarded as one of the holiest places to Hindus.[3] Hindu sages and saints have visited Rishikesh since ancient times to meditate in search of higher knowledge.

3. Jim Corbett National Park

Jim Corbett National Park is the oldest national park in India and was established in 1936 as Hailey National Park to protect the endangered Bengal tiger. It is located in Nainital district and Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand and was named after Jim Corbett, a well known hunter and naturalist.

Corbett has been a haunt for tourists and wildlife lovers for a long time.[when?] Tourism is only allowed in selected areas of Corbett Tiger Reserve so that people get an opportunity to see its landscape and wildlife. In recent years[when?] the number of people coming here has increased dramatically.

Corbett National Park comprises 520.8 km2 (201.1 sq mi) area of hills, riverine belts, marshy depressions, grasslands and a large lake. It houses around 110 tree species, 50 species of mammals, 580 bird species and 25 reptile species.

 4. Mussoorie

Mussoorie is a hill station in the Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. It is about 35 kilometres from the state capital of Dehradun and 290 km from New Delhi. The hill station is in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan range.

Mussoorie is at an average altitude of 2,005 metres (6,578 ft). To the northeast are the Himalayan snow ranges, and to the south, the Doon Valley and Shiwalik ranges. The second highest point is the original Lal Tibba in Landour, with a height of over 2,275 m (7,464 ft). Mussoorie is popularly known as The Queen of the Hills.

Jaipur is a popular tourist destination in India and forms a part of the west Golden Triangle tourist circuit along with Delhi and Agra (240 km, 149 mi).
